Clare is 8 years old and lives in Gangdyang (near Kitgum with her mother. The family moved to Gangdyang 5 years ago because her father was abducted by the rebels and not ever found. At that time they lived in their original village of Padible which 12 miles from
Kitgum.
Clare’s mother does beading and farming. She sells vegetables from her home to the community. Clare helps her mother by washing plates and fetching water.
Her favorite subjects are math and science. She is good student. She would like to be a nurse. She wants to treat people who are sick so they can get well. She plays games and plays the “ded” game with her friends.
Annual sponsorship cost is $120 for primary school fees, uniforms, basic school supplies and supplemental food. The sponsorship amount can be paid annually, or by term at $40 per term. Additional optional amounts up to $300 total may be contributed during the calendar year as a special family gift.
