Faith lives with her parents and 6 other siblings, ages 6 to 21 years old in 2 rented rooms in the Bugembe area of
Jinja. Her father does occasional contract work which is very difficult to find, and her mother does distilling to earn some income for the family. Her mother also began beading in 2008.
The family came to Jinja 20 years ago from Pakwatch village because of the war. Their biggest problem right now is paying the school fees for all the children. They have lived in their present location since 1995.
Faith helps her mother by cleaning, cooking and washing. She goes to a private day school in
Jinja. Her best subject is English. She wants to be a nurse when she grows up so she can treat the sick. Her goal is to go to a boarding school eventually so she can read well and improve her studies.
Annual sponsorship cost is $300 for primary school fees, uniforms and supplies. This amount can be paid in one lump sum, by term at $100 per term, or monthly via credit card at $25 per month. Additional optional amounts up to $300 total may be contributed during the calendar year as a special family gift.
