Okwir lives with his mother, 2 siblings, and adopted cousin (child of his mother’s deceased sister.) They live in
Kitgum.
Okwir’s mother sells some vegetables in the market and makes beads to earn a living. Her husband was shot to death in 1996. Continued sponsorship of Okwir would give her peace of mind. She’d appreciate any additional support, as it would have a huge impact on her and her family’s lives.
Okwir likes school very much, especially math. He loves to play soccer with his friends. He wants to become a mechanic or car driver when he grows up. Okwir helps around the hut by sweeping the compound and fetching water.
Annual sponsorship cost is $120 for primary school fees, uniforms, basic school supplies and supplemental food. The sponsorship amount can be paid annually, or by term at $40 per term. Additional optional amounts up to $300 total may be contributed during the calendar year as a special family gift.
